Please wear what makes you feel most comfortable and at your best. Formality level is “cocktail” but the vibe is “garden party.” There are no color restrictions.
Please be aware that the entire wedding is outside on a lawn, so we strongly encourage proper footwear! Don’t forget a sweater if you plan on staying late.t goes here

Mossyrock is a very small town with no hotels but a few cabins and Airbnbs.
Morton is the closest small town. It’s 20 minutes away and has one motel.
Centralia/Chehalis is 45 minutes away and has several hotel and homeshare options. We recommend you stay here.

The Cabin is located approximately 2 hours from both Seattle and Portland and 45 minutes from Centralia, WA–where we suggest you stay. There is a train from both Seattle and Portland into Centralia, WA. If you are coming from either Portland or Seattle and need a ride or have space in your car, please look out for an email from us to help coordinate rides.
On the day of the wedding:
You may drive to the Maher Cabin but there is limited parking available so again, please look out for that email from us to help coordinate rides. Most importantly, we are asking everyone to please not drink and drive. We mean this very seriously and will be checking in with people before they leave! There are limited taxis in the area, so please have a designated driver and if need be, there are plenty of couches and beds to crash on at the cabin and we would always prefer you do that.
Finally, we will be offering limited van rides from Centralia to the Maher Cabin and sign ups will be sent with the other transportation information via email.

If you choose to come to the area for Saturday as well, you will find the Maher Cabin abuzz with activity! We will be creating flower centerpieces, hanging lights, and otherwise preparing for Sunday’s festivities.
If we haven’t personally reached out to you, we are definitely not expecting you to help out, but if you are interested in doing any of this or find yourself with free time on Saturday, you are completely welcome to drop by at any point to help out or to just spend time with everyone there.
This applies also to any of you who have never been to the Cabin! The property includes a large outdoor area, including lake access. There’s also a hot tub. It’s a lovely place to spend time with others or on your own.
Note: The wedding on Sunday will be catered, but Saturday we’re just planning to have some drinks and snacks, so please plan your meals accordingly.

You have several options for entertainment in the area, if you choose to come up for the whole weekend:
Centralia/Chehalis is a cute town with some coffee shops and used bookstores.
If you have a car and would like to get outside, there are many great hiking trails and state parks nearby. We especially recommend:
Lewis & Clark State Park
Rainbow Falls State Park
Mt. Rainier National Park - If you have the time, we highly recommend you make the trek to Mt. Rainier. Get up early to beat the crowds but if you’re at all interested, DO IT.
Mt. St. Helens - If you’ve never seen an active volcano before, check it out but we will not be held liable for any eruptions.
If you’re more in the mood for a novelty attraction, the World’s Largest Egg is just a hop, skip, and jump in Winlock, WA
If you have kids that you just desperately need to keep occupied, Alex highly recommends the Great Wolf Lodge, which has kept many a Maher child busy for an afternoon
